My Juice Fast Experience

I was able to do my juice fast for 5 days. I wanted to do 7 days minimum but I just couldn’t take being hungry anymore. Online everyone said it should get better after around 3 days and that you won’t be feeling any hunger at all anymore but boy, I WAS STARVING! On the bright side it did help me to get rid of my Coca Cola Zero addiction. So that’s something, right? After all I used to drink 2l a day. Yeah, it was intense. Now I only drink 2-3l sparkling water a day!

This juice fast also helped me to kick-start my “healthy lifestyle”. I work out again and I eat my veggies 6 days a week. Day nr. 7 is my Cheat Day™, where I can stuff my face with chocolate. I feel like that’s the only thing that works for me. I tried every diet there is from high carb low fat vegan to low carb but nothing but simple calorie counting & cheat days seem to be effective. I always failed to stick to those strict diets.

With summer approaching I’m struggeling more and more with my body image and eating habits… but that’s a whole nother blog post. I hope everyone reading this is feeling good and has a great weekend!

This week I went to visit my best friend G in Kiel, Germany. It was really nice to see her again and to get away from everyone and my city. I came back 4 days ago and the day after I started a juice cleanse.

If you’re eating plant based you may or may not have heard of Joe Cross. He filmed a documentary called “Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead” in which he shows the many benifits of a juice fast. You can watch it on Neflix and also YouTube and I’d highly recommend it! It’s a very inspring movie.

I watched this when I started to eat a vegan diet around a year ago and always wanted to fast like Joe did. I went on Amazon and got a juicer and now im on day 3 with my juice cleanse.

Honestly, I don’t know for how long I can do this but my goal nr. 1 is 15 days. Goal nr. 2 would be 30 days but I don’t know if I can do that. I know the first 3-7 days are the hardest and I know that it’ll get better and that you’ll feel amazing yada, yada, yada… but MAN! IM HUNGRY!

I can’t quit though. I told everyone I know about this fast so that they can hold me accountable. Wish me luck, guys!
