Plot: “Playful Kiss” is a romantic-comedy covering the romance between Baek Seung-Jo (Kim Hyun-Joong), an arrogant young man with a genius IQ, and Oh Ha-Ni (Jung So-Min), a ditzy young woman who gets poor grades, but whose heart is as powerful as Seung-Jo’s mind. The series is based off from a Taiwanese drama and a Japanese manga book. It is call “It Started With a Kiss.” It is about a girl in F class that falls in love with an A class boy. Rating:  (3.5/5)

Note: Keep in mind I watched the drama and wrote this review before the Kim Hyun Joong scandal.

Do you ever get really hooked on something but then after a while you go

WAIT A MINUTE….

That’s basically how I felt about Playful Kiss.

I got really into it at the beginning, even though it was one of those typical cliché school Girl Meets Boy dramas. I guess part of the reason for that was Hyun Joong, since I find him very attractive. The female lead on the other hand is a piece of work. Wow, what an overly obsessive girlfriend. Seungjo always treated her like shit and she kept running after him, which frankly speaking isn’t something you should promote on television. Hani was submissive at all times and not able to move on even after being rejected a thousand times. I mean.. common girl, get yourself together.

Even though the plot was really predictable I enjoyed how humorous Playful Kiss was. I laughed a lot while watching and I’d recommend this drama to everyone who enjoyed the drama Heartstrings. The concept is quite similar.
